Teaching is an act of giving the most to the community even when you expect hardly any returns. It’s for the reckless and selfless; for those with great minds and greater hearts, and thus my interest in teaching is not to decorate my resume with ever increasing bullet points but to give, with every capacity I have, the most to the community.

Hello! My name is Atiya Razi, and I am from Mississauga, Canada. I am born with a competitive mind geared toward working in the most challenging environment. I am a teacher at the Simcoe County District School Board.

I belong to a highly energetic and adventurist family. My husband is a physician by profession, and we have two smart daughters, a twelve-years and an eleven-years-old. During vacations, we love travelling, hiking, biking and exploring the beauty of the nature around the world. I enjoy cooking, baking, stitching and spending time with my family.

I am a teacher at heart and in practice. My teaching journey started immediately after my first Master in Biochemistry when I was hired as a Math and Science teacher at Falconhouse Grammar School. My employment at Bahria Foundation College serves as a milestone in my teaching career where I taught Chemistry, Math, Science and Biology. In Bahria Foundation College, I received many awards for producing the best result in Chemistry in O’Level and also in secondary board five years in a row. With the recognition of my hard work and dedication to my students and school overall, I was promoted as a Vice Principal of O’Level and Secondary sections.

My thirst for learning took me to the University of Karachi to complete my B.Sc. (Hons) Also, then M.Sc. in Biochemistry. A few years later, I went back to school, where I completed my Bachelors in Education (B.Ed.) and Master in Education (M.Ed.). Moreover, I went to Michigan State University to do my third Masters in Educational Technology (MAET). I got the teaching certification from the Ontario College of Teacher (OCT), Canada. I am certified to teach Math, Chemistry, Biology, Science, Special Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), Junior, and Primary. I am also certified by the Michigan Department of Education to teach high school Chemistry and Biology.

Now in 2019, I am starting a new lifelong journey of becoming Doctorate in Education from the University of Windsor. I know this journey has no limit. I have to make sure that I am keeping abreast of change in Technological, Pedagogical, Content, and Knowledge.
